As a beginner in the world of saltwater I've been reading every book I can find on the subject. This book and the other two written by the author have by far been the most informative and interesting as a beginner. The information in all three books have been to the point, realistic, and very easy to comprehend. A few books I've read you would need a degree in marine biology to understand but the author does a great job translating the never ending information needed to know for this hobby. I consider all three books a must read for anyone interested in the hobby, the authors knowledge mixed with his humor makes all three books an informative and easy read.
I wish this book had some color pictures, other than that is ok. The tips are short and to the point. Other books can be are harder to relate to.They have a habit of going on and on. Good book and an easy read.
Let's see-- each tip cost me just a few pennies, and there are several that will definitely save me some dollars, some time and some frustration. So this was a really good investment. He's a fun writer and a smart guy.
Not bad for the price, but a lot of common sense tips relating to water quality and stocking. I bought his other reef keeping book for $9.99 and much more informative. I like the author and his writings a lot, but the info in this small book can be found online with a little research for free.
