The Emerald Tablet: Alchemy for Personal Transformation is blowing my mind and is blowing it a second time as I re-read my personal dog-eared and heavily highlighted, underlined and written in the margins copy of Hauck's brilliant masterpiece. This is THE book of all books on Alchemy....because it reveals alchemy at its core which is a process for personal transformation - supporting the reason we are indeed here as humans - to become fully self-actualized. This work has validated and concretized my own work, giving me the long-sought after name for what I have been doing and teaching for the past 20+ years - Christian Alchemy. Thank you Dennis for this exhaustive and comprehensive work. Hauck is more concerned with elucidating alchemic history and providing "fun facts"" than actually putting applicable methods into practice. This is a long-winded, verbose compendium written by a scholar who seems to love the sound of his own (written) voice. The practical steps and explanations for this book could of been written in 100 pages or less. Instead, the book reads like Hauck attempting to convert the masses into the religion of alchemy with wordy passages that give little of real value outside of select historical interpretations.When you actually get to what you're "supposed" to do to progress through the 7 stages of alchemy, you realize that in reality it's just basic yoga! Alchemy is essentially a hyper-left brained western occultist practice with a love for chemistry metaphors. If you're interested in the asthetics of it, go on ahead. If you're looking for practical and efficient progression in your spiritual practices, then just go to meditation/yoga instead of wading through the mire of riddles, metaphors, symbolism, and nonsense alchemists love to spout to aggrandize their beliefs into somthing more fantastic and wonderful than it really is.Seriously, this book is just going to give you poor instructions on meditations from a ufo nerd that is not very far progressed in it. It's nice if you want to learn more about alchemy for your own personal cultural enrichment, but I wouldn't expect much in the form of occult transformation from it. Just my 2 cents.

Dennis did a phenomenal job giving facts, history, insight, real life stories for each stage of alchemy, and application tips for spiritual/personal growth! This can be applied to an individual no matter WHAT religious, spiritual, or neither path they are walking in this incarnation! I have heavily marked up this book with my own thoughts, notes, observations. I know that Dennis curated the Alchemy Museum at the Rosicrucian Museum & Park in Northern California and I plan on visiting! I really appreciate Dennis recommending additional books regarding Alchemy that one should look into if they are interested!

It is now clear to me the steps I must take or the process that must happen within myself to reach spiritual enlightenment. I am excited to find out how it feels to live in an astral body. How much more self control or freedom I will enjoy. I am grateful to Mr. Hauck for this incredible contribution to our world, a world in need of transformation.

I found this a fasinating read. For the interested layman it gives a good account of alchemy's history in Europe, and explains the basic stages of transformation. Nevertheless, the book confirms that the hermetic form of mysticism seems to be based primarlily on the intellect, so inevitably tends to focus on self rather than others. Thus the power of reason supercedes that of love, which means that adherents (Freemasons, Knights Templars, Rosicrucians, and so on) were susceptible to and had reputations for arrogance. Though I personally enjoy books of this type, ultimately I can't bring myself to share the authors enthusiasm for the alchemical ideal.

I've read most of this book in the past and was pretty bummed out when I lost my copy. Real glad to see it offered on Amazon for a decent price.

I refer to this book all the time.A really good for someone wanting to learn more about Alchemy, or looking to improve themselves.

This was told as a simply put play or story. They style held my undivided attention from start to finish. This was my first book from this author. My only complaint was it came to an end much sooner than I wanted. I wanted more. I will be reading all of Mr. Edwards books in the next few months. A Tale of Three Kings looks at the relationships of Saul, David, and Absalom. It is a book that is principally about forgiveness and how it is more important that grudges or revenge. I read this book during a particularly rough time in my life where I felt I had been wronged by someone close to me. This book takes a look at David's actions towards Saul and later towards his son Absalom. Saul and Absalom both attempted to have David killed because they felt that he was a threat to their kingdoms. Edwards does a great job of disarming the reader while informing them of how God views forgiveness. An excellent book that should be read by anyone who has ever been wronged.

This book rocked my world and had me in tears. It will reach into your heart and smack you. I don't think anyone can read it and not be affected by its message. We think we know what being a Christ-follower is about but this book puts it in perspective by the story that the author tells. It's fiction but it's powerful. It was recommended by a friend and I now recommend it to my other friends.

Excellent book for anyone who feels the cards are stacked against them. My Pastor first let me borrow this after custody and court battles, amongst a ton of other opposition as a stepmom. I now recommend to others and always come back to it when things are out of control. Gene Edwards is EXCELLENT in transporting you into where the story takes place. A great " short" read.

I got the Kindle version for the Tale of Three Kings, which I think is fantastic for anyone who is serious about living their Christianity and dealing with their hurts and disappointments in a spiritual way. All churches have or will have serious problems arise, and this book helps you to be faithful to God and not be quick to operate like a Saul or an Absalom.
