About the Author
Sibylle von Olfers was an art teacher in East Prussia at the turn of the century as well as a member of the Catholic Order of St. Elizabeth. Sieglinde Schoen-Smith is a quilter whose quilted interpretation of Mother Earth and Her Children captured the coveted Best in Show award at the 2006 International Quilt Show in Houston. She lives in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Jack Zipes is the foremost expert on German folklore in the United States. He is a professor of German literature at the University of Minnesota and has edited, contributed to, and translated more than 50 books, essays, and plays on German folklore, including The Norton Anthology of Children's Literature and The Oxford Companion to Fairy Tales. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Jens Gieseke is head of the "Communism and Society" research department at the Centre for Contemporary History in Potsdam, Germany. Jim Morin is the Miami Herald’s internationally syndicated editorial cartoonist since 1978. Morin won the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning in 1996 and shared the Pulitzer with the Miami Herald Editorial Board in 1983. In 2007, he won the prestigious Herblock Prize. He has covered eight U.S. presidents from Richard Nixon through Barack Obama.

Although human foibles are my source of inspiration, I've always enjoyed the biting satire and fine artwork of Jim Moran's cartoons. And this collection is a treasure chest of his best. You can readily see why he is the winner of Pulitzer Prizes. Very insightful and funny, this book is a delight for the mind and the eye. This is a great book. Jim Morin - says what we all feel at times.

I saw Morin’s work in a display at the Newseum in Washington D.C. , and was pleased to see it in book form at Amazon. This was a very enjoyable read, as it triggered flashbacks in my mind of the political mine fields over the last 40 years.
