For me, it seems like this should be the first book you read entering this topic. It gives you not only grasp but also a good understanding the differences between Eastern and Western approaches. Sifu Wong eliminates all major concepts and terminology that is frequently misunderstood by the broad audience.This book covers many interesting topics, from the history of Chinese medicine to particular examples of patient diagnoses and ways of treatment that is not limited by acupuncture only.Have a good reading.

Sifu Wong has successfully brought Traditional Chinese Medicine out of the fog of misunderstanding. His explanations and descriptions are so clear and concise. Western medicine has so much to learn from TCM.

If you want to know about chinese medicine, this is the book you need. This is not necessarily a pocket guide, but it is very comprehensive and complete.You may need to get simpler texts to break down individual topics, but this is the book you need in your library!

Cancer is a terrible disease, the best way to deal with it is to avoid it by knowledge and prognosis. I may recommend patients follow a healthy lifestyle & screen themselves for possible signs, as well as not deviate so much from doctors orders, or stop western medication altogether because of alternative/ eastern treatmeants. The reason is that if a person diagnosed with cancer [well, god forbid] at least continuing to take western medication will buy some time for them so if they want to follow an eastern approach to healing as well, they may do so with ample time for treatment i.e. alongside western science and medicine. On the other hand, if they disregard western medicine approach completely then they may risk that cancer may rapidly progress to detrimental consequences.

Bruce Tuckman (Ph.D. in Psychology, Princeton University) is the Director of the Social and Cultural Foundations Department in the Ohio State University School of Education. About the Author
Joshua Free first began by receiving personal apprenticeships from his early years and progressing through his entire life, including various Christian Gnostics, Rosicrucians, Freemasons, members of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, O.T.O. While it is a heartbreaking read, at the same time, it reminds everyone reading the importance of paying attention and remembering that you never know when the last time you see or speak to someone will be. Put simply, this novel makes you think. And that is where the true beauty lies.Lex, our main character, is extremely strong, even if she doesn't think so. She must find a way to deal with her brother's suicide and find a way to move on. And this is exactly what she does. This isn't a love story, where Lex meets a guy that shows her there's more to life than dwelling on the event that happened 3 months ago. This is the story about a girl who finds herself, and gets through this incredibly difficult situation on her own. Along the way she realizes that she isn't alone, and that getting to that place where everything she is feeling is a bit more manageable takes time.This is a deep novel that is full of heartfelt and touching moments. While it won't be the easiest novel to read as it is a tearjerker, it is worth it in every single way. This is an absolute must-read, so don't put this one off!Happy reading :)

When I read the cover to your book I thought to myself that I might be hurt or cause myself pain by reading this fictional plot/storyline. I was immediately drawn into your descriptions, words and emotions. I kept reading because I could not put down your book, your words. I know in the end that you stated very clearly that the book is not your life but the words you wrote, the feelings you expressed are those of a survivor of suicide. I ended up crying in the end but not until I read your acknowledgement and I realized that you suffered a loss also. Thank you for sharing your heart and your mind.

When you read a book where suicide plays a crucial role in the plot, you go into the novel with the expectation that you are going to feel some things. Maybe a lot of things. You go in knowing that there's a good chance that you are going to cry. You go in with the knowledge that you might get mad. You do not go into the novel with the expectation of not feeling anything.Unfortunately, that is what happened when I read The Last Time We Say Goodbye. From the first line to the last, I can honestly say that my emotions did not change at all throughout the story.I wish there was a few details about the novel that I could hold up and say I really enjoyed but honestly, there was nothing in this book that felt noticeably good enough for me to point out. The characters, for the most part seemed flat. There were a few minor characters here and there that could have possibly been interesting but they were in the book so little that there's no way of knowing. The plot was all over the place. It flitted from one thing to another to yet another and none of it really flowed. It felt like reading a montage of scenes in an outline in an early draft of a novel. That's what reading this felt like. Throw in some suicide statistics and it just completely took me out of any kind of plot flow this novel may have had.

This book was incredibly difficult for me to read, but not because it was poorly written in any way. If anything, it was hard to read because Cynthia Hand writes incredibly well about a grief that I am intimately familiar with. I lost my own younger brother to suicide, and reading this story brought up all of the emotions and pain that goes along with that kind of loss in a very visceral and real way.What strikes me the most about this beautifully written story is how it is not so much about death as it is about forgiveness. Yes, the book centers on the suicide, but it also revolves around Lex’s need to forgive those around her. Not just her brother, but her mother, friends, and herself as well. The story is very dark, but it doesn’t shy away from the grief that Lex experiences.This book is an extremely well written, character-driven story of grief and forgiveness. I highly recommend it.

About the Author
Kelly Cowan just celebrated her 20th anniversary at Miami University Middletown, an open admissions campus in Ohio. She received her Ph.D. at the University of Louisville, and later worked at the University of Maryland and the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. She specializes in teaching microbiology to nonmajors, and especially to pre-nursing and allied health students. She herself fell in love with microbiology while pursuing an undergraduate degree in dental hygiene. She has made it her personal mission to hear nurses and dental hygienists she encounters in everyday situations exclaim, I loved my microbiology class!
